Disney On Ice World of Fantasy Special

This year's show features Cars, Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell. This is the first time that Tinkerbell has been included in the show. She brings all of her fairy friends from Pixie Hollow, of course. The show runs about an hour and a half, just upwards of the attention span of a child. I will blog/tweet/tumblr/whrrl it when we go on December 22nd!

One of the things that JBean is most looking forward to is the pre-show. It features a collection of the Disney princess dresses and a Disney princess herself! Best yet: the pre-show is included in the price of your ticket.

And remember, there is time for shopping later! You don't want your kids to miss out, do you? Years from now, our kids will be on a therapist's couch, and what do you want them to remember? That's what I thought. So go! Take the kids!

Ok, here it is, the offer you have been waiting for all holiday season! If you haven't already, read the original post for background.

Fashion Show & Go for your little model

Just in time for the holidays I was given the opportunity to check out a new toy. For every little girl who fancies herself a fashion designer, comes Harumika from Bandai. This small package is for ages 6 and up, and I do believe younger girls might have a hard time with the dexterity needed to create these fashions. But older girls will like the ability to create, upload and share their fashions. At harumika.com, girls can create a Lookbook to impress their friends.

Harumika Magical Nights comes with:

a bracelet for you
4 swatches of fabric "formal length"
a ton of accessories to stick on the mannequin and the dresses
a dress form
a small hand bag to carry it all in
intro to harumika.com

This would probably be best for an older grade schooler, it was a bit advanced for my second grader. But any little girl who likes fashion will probably love to "Share her Imagination" and would eat this up!

I Scream, You Scream: for Popsicles

About a month or so ago, Breyers contacted me and asked if they could send me free samples. I loved that idea, and figured I would blog about them as we tried them. Naturally, life got in the way, but I am finally doing so. I have accepted NO money for this review, and it is my personal opinion, not influenced in any way.

The first item that we tried is the Slow-Melt Popsicles. They come in lemonade, cherry and strawberry-kiwi flavors. They are fat-free and have no artificial colors or flavors, with 10% fruit juice. They do contain high fructose corn syrup, though. So if you are sensitive to it, stand warned.

Sure they say they are slow melt, but how do they stand up to Southern California heat? I am happy to say that they didn't drip or melt in the time it took my dawdling eaters to finish them. They enjoyed the flavors, especially the strawberry-kiwi. The taste is a bit like Capri Sun...a bit fruity, but really sweet. I personally found them too sweet, but that might be my preference. I am not especially an ice pop fan. (give me ice cream!) As I said, the kids really enjoyed them. And I loved that they don't melt all over the floor or all over the kids! Score! Also, no terrible-staining purple or red dye to ruin clothes is a huge bonus! T, who figures Popcicles are a tradition
